How to Create Your Own Social Media Posts

Tips for creating your own posts:

  • Twitter - We will follow Twitter guidelines that include the following:
  • LinkedIn - LinkedIn rejects social posts containing links that use any of the following characters: {  }  | \  ^  `
  • WeChat - WeChat has the following guidelines.
    • Zift will support the article broadcast message type.
    • Users can publish WeChat's broadcast allotment of one broadcast message per day for a subscription account: four messages per month for a service account. Any additional posts will appear in Post History with an error message.
    • WeChat does not support links out from posts, so you will not be able to use Social Forms.
  • Social media posts that you create do not require approval.

You can Create Posts from these any of these menus:

  • Social Media > Upcoming Posts
  • Social Media > Library Posts
  • Social Media > Post History
  1. Select Create Post.GIFWeChat_Settings_Create_Post3.gif
  2. In the Create Social Post window:
    1. Select the social media platforms where you wish to publish your post.
    2. Enter the main text of your post.
      1. For WeChat, the post cannot exceed 600 characters.
      2. For WeChat video messages cannot exceed 20 minutes.
      3. For WeChat video files supported are rm, rmvb, wmv, avi, mpg, mpeg, and mp4.
    3. Post an image either with a URL or by uploading. Images are limited to 3 megabytes.
    4. The WeChat platform has these additional fields:
      1. WeChat Group - From the drop-down list, select the group for this account. These groups are created in WeChat and allow users to send targeted messages. If a group is not set, unclassified will show.
      2. Post Title - Add a title that does not exceed 64 bytes.
      3. WeChat Post URL
    5. Select if users must fill out a form before they view your promoted content.
    6. Schedule your post for publication.
      1. Auto-Schedule - Zift will automatically select a time to publish your post for maximum impact.
      2. Select Date and Time - You choose your own date and time.
      3. Post Now - This will publish your content immediately.
  3. Select Create Post.
